Oooh, I'm really really late for this one. If I'm to keep with my pic-a-week plan, I'm behind by four... :(

Anyway, this is... well the hairdo alone should be really distinctive. The manga struck me as really really silly even when I first saw it way back when, but there's no doubt in my mind that I'd have loved it if I'd seen it 10 years (maybe even 5 years) earlier. So I guess this is a tribute to the silly little girl I once was.

The picture turned out surprisingly well, and I think I'll finish it one day. I'm of two minds whether to go look up the frothy confection that is her dress, or to make something up. And what to do about the background? Eh, anyway my monitor is still not calibrated, so it'll be awhile. Hopefully some inspiration will have struck me before then.
